Hi I’m Sydney! I’m a ceramic artist living on the east coast of Canada! I’ve been collecting pottery for as long as I can remember and was gifted a series of classes several years ago. After my first few attempts at the wheel I was humbled by this practice to say the least, but I was up for the challenge. It didn’t take long before I fell in love with this medium. I’ve
always admired the idea of functional art, and it’s such a joy to be able to create just that. Pieces to be used and loved on the daily, something to add a special vibe and uniqueness to your home. I’m inspired by the natural world around me, plants, animals, mountains, the sun, and the moon, and with that inspiration I try to convey a deep sense of nostalgia in my work.
During the daytime when I’m not potting I’m lucky enough to be a natural soap maker in a small artisan shop downtown Charlottetown, and in the summertime a flower farm (cue the inspiration), at night you can usually find my crouched over the wheel with a pup or two by my side, with a podcast on the go or some vinyl spinning.
